Ricardo Escavy
(Calasparra – 1979)
Ricardo Escavy, graduated in Fine Arts from the Faculty of San Carlos in Valencia and received a scholarship from said faculty to study at the Armando Reverón University Institute for Higher Studies of Plastic Arts in Caracas, Venezuela. His work focuses on the perceptual relationship between the plastic and the musical, given the wide spectrum of similarities that exist between both languages. The different graphic elements that make up his work and their behavior in the plastic environment are understood as if they were sound stimuli, where the rhythm, tone and space generate a sense of temporality in order to lead the viewer towards a sound vision of the construction site.
It should be noted that it was selected in 2008 by the Ministry of Culture for the Ideas and Proposals for Art in Spain project and thus became part of its stand at ARCO 2008 and the funds of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía de Madrid. He has held numerous exhibitions, both collectively and individually since 2001, to highlight his last two solo shows that took place last year at SHIRAS Galería in Valencia and at Artifact Gallery in New York.
